You can’t humiliate me….

1 Thessalonians 2:2” but after we had already suffered and been humiliated in Philippi, as you know, we had the boldness in our God to speak to you the gospel of God amid much opposition.”

So, I was very hurt, very deeply hurt and humiliated, when one particular family bluntly, overlooked my numerous number of phone calls and text messages; after all I was trying to help a girl from their family. Now after several days, they came back to me for the same favor that I had earlier offered them so willingly. Do I have to put up a price now? Well, I accepted the girl but the hurt was raw and I kept rummaging over it and I remained aloof from the family. Around this time, I happened to hear an awesome sermon and one particular line came like a missile and struck all over me: “If you are already humble then you cannot be humiliated!” Boy, that was profound! Right word for my disturbed mind! A humbled heart would never be humiliated because it is crucified in Christ! Phew!

However, this maturity has to be developed as you discipline yourself through reading His word diligently, praying and setting aside time to fast. This spiritual exercise demands sacrifice and time. Are you listening? Who has time for ‘such exercises’ anyway, we have all the time for gym, beauty parlours, facebook, whatsup and tons of other social networks but the last dregs is offered to God, no wonder we are furious, violent, proud, immature, short-tempered and crazy. We cannot tolerate an offence, we bark back more fiercely and viciously.

Having said all this, I want to say something important and sum up this message, learn a lesson when you are humiliated, don’t hold a grudge but don’t be foolish either; I have understood much of the salutes is for a favor and not for me at all. Are you hearing me? In the above scripture, though Apostle Paul was humiliated in Philippi that did not deter his anointing, he kept going on in God’s work. Be it in office, college, at home, among friends or at church, wherever you may be mistreated or sidelined, don’t allow that to stagnate you – keep pushing forward more aggressively.

You are too cute……

You are too cute…….cute1

Hey! Women! You are too cute to be neglected!

Be fearless! I love what Serena Williams, the record-breaking tennis star and the world’s highest paid female athlete said, which made a deep impact in me : ”Every time you do, you’re making it little easier for a woman behind.” Phew! Enough is enough! Enough of crying, weeping, mourning, lagging, dragging, sleeping, gossiping, envying, sighing, spying, it’s time to soar high! Stop looking for approval, acceptance, appreciation, endorsement and evaluation from others who do not value who you are! It’s time you know your own value! Are you listening? It has already been declared by God that:” you are fearfully and wonderfully made..” (Psalm 139:14) Say this million times and put the devil who jeers at you under your feet!

Enhance the quality of your life rather than beauty! If you think you can keep ‘somebody’ through ‘outward beauty’ then that would be temporary because if that somebody finds it anywhere else he would stray ; nevertheless, if you have something precious on the ‘inside’ of you, which is rare and unique then you become incomparable. Anybody listening? We would spend more time with God and His Word if only we knew this truth. Men who had affairs outside marriage normally are the ones who had stunning, gorgeous wives, now tell me can beauty keep a man? Never. Don’t be deceived. Sadly today, beauty parlours and gyms are crowded while church pews are empty, no wonder adulterous relationships are mushrooming in all corporate sectors. Caveat! Circulate this article to million people!

Be a ‘head turner’ not through cheap gimmicks but through the quality of your life! turnerI repeat quality! Don’t have the herd mentality but be matchless and exceptional, ha….I love that word exceptional, even if it means hard work, isolation, sacrifice and running the extra mile to get it done. Dear ladies, you are too cute………………….

Luke 1:24”….After these days Elizabeth his wife became pregnant, and she kept herself in seclusion for five months, saying….”

Broadcasting pregnancy and posting pics of baby bumps is current trend in the social media! Crazy! But look what we read today, Elizabeth, wife of priest Zechariah was highly favored by God and she became pregnant at a very advanced age in her life; however, the Bible says that she hid herself for five months. Women of today would have gone bonkers and announced it on every social media possible with selfie pics! Even when you reveal your mood through emoticons, it talks a lot to the people, they read between the lines: ‘may be she had a fight with her husband, may be she lost her job, may be he is fired, may be he is not doing well financially….etc. ‘ Ah, do people know the spelling of ‘ silence’ anyway, it’s all about making noise and posting everything on facebook wall….

The true mark of spiritual maturity is to learn to ‘stay quiet”. silence womanThe Bible says in Proverbs 10:19 “In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.” We live in a world where the “toughest survive”, the “loudest are lauded” and the ‘aggressive ones are appreciated”. Having worked for many years in public sectors and multinational companies, I have seen how the boisterous ones excel.

Elizabeth spent that time with God in silent celebration praising Him for all His goodness, read, ” God looked with favor upon me, to take away my disgrace among men.” Today celebration is all about throwing booze party and emptying the wallet without God in the agenda! Roger Federer admits he woke up with a sore head after celebrating a record eighth Wimbledon triumph until 5am on Monday morning. “My head is ringing,” Federer said at a press conference, ‘I drank too many different types of drinks I guess.”

Elizabeth celebrated her joy hidden with God! What a difference!

James 1:3”…knowing that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness…”

The word ‘steadfastness’ means: determination, resoluteness, commitment, dedication and persistence.  Let me add more unshakeable, unmovable and so on…

Jesus said ‘Everything is possible for one who believes…..’, (Mark 9:23), I mean everything, did you get that? Everything. This word is for someone out there.  Pause.  Take in the words of not some magician but this is from JESUS.  One particular testimony of a missionary just awed me, despite the death of his sister , he waits on God along with his wife for money for the travel expenses; they do not budge but wait on God faithfully.  Midnight a man (total stranger) comes to their home and says, ‘God told me to give this money and left.’  The money was sufficient for their travel expenses, how could someone trust God so wholeheartedly despite the death of his sister?  This is called steadfast faith in a Powerful God who can do the impossible for you! This missionary is none other than Bro Augustine Jabakumar who is doing amazing work in Bihar. This is called testing of faith, not many can handle such pressure, though, that’s why they have distorted knowledge of God.  Their idea of God is vague because they have no experience of trusting God in the storm.

After serving the Lord for more than 15 years, I’m still not exempt from trials and sufferings, I reserve the first portion of the day for the Lord because I get my energy ‘THERE’.  Is anybody listening?  Nobody can escape struggles, learn to trust God and lay your fears at His Feet, God would not fail you! Amen.  Sometimes the agony I go through is unbearable,  I feel I cannot take it anymore and no more; however, after I cross that ‘stage’, I am able to take something heavier than that the next time.  Hallelujah!  God is an ace Trainer!

What was supposed to bring you down, sometimes takes you up! Cheers!

Let me quote something I read this morning , ‘why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up….’

Just keep quiet….

Just keep quiet and play the game

Colossians 3:23” Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

I tell you when I read the remarks of Sourav Ganguly in an article in the sports column captioned “Just keep quiet and play the game”, I felt those are apt comments for vain chatterboxes!  Ace comment! Stop talking and keep moving!  Let me tell you, this jet-speed world seldom wants to hear your sob story, they have their own to think of!  Let this sink deep into your heart and now get back to work.

When I ask a particular woman if the job was done, she would now narrate her pathetic story of misfortune  from the time she missed her bus in the morning, her lost purse, the quarrels at home, her stomach ache, burnt dosas in the morning and what not, all this introduction is given to tell that she got the work accomplished DESPITE all these hurdles.  Ah! The flavor of victory is lost in the marathon narration of the tale, just say ‘YES THE JOB IS DONE, GOD KNOWS YOUR EFFORTS!’  In due course, the price that you paid for the work to be done will reach your boss or whoever you want to impress.  God would do that for you! Are you listening? The husband gets bugged when the wife keeps giving marathon details of every work that she does from morning to evening, Just keep quiet and play the game, you would definitely get your rewards from heaven.

From the time of  writing the draft for any upcoming sermon, to collecting various illustrations, to collecting necessary presentation pics, examples, prayers, fasting and what not cannot be explained on the pulpit, GOD KNOWS AND HE WOULD REWARD.

Hope I helped someone out there today!

Just keep quiet and play the game! Cheers!
